Much like Storm Claudia tore through the northern region the night before, Manchester City swept Manchester United away at the their home ground. It was a statement 3-0 victory for their manager's side owing to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a display that firmly established their championship potential as they strengthened their place at the top of the table.

Back-to-Back Setbacks for Manchester United

This scoreline signalled back-to-back WSL setbacks for Marc Skinner’s side for the maiden instance since May 2024, placing them seven points off the league leaders with their trophy ambitions in serious doubt.

Manchester United's capacity to juggle domestic and European soccer with a limited squad has been a widely debated subject since they earned a place in the UCL. Reviewing the schedule, it always felt like this was the period that would truly test this capability. Regrettably for the away side, they seemed weary all game, the memorable win against Paris Saint-Germain clearly having had an impact.

Team Changes
